Set overview: While this set continues the focus on a Japanese-based
Legendaiy world started in the first two sets of the Kamigawa block, the
mechanics wildly deviate from the first two sets.
Much of the gameplay is based around keeping cards in your hand,
which actively goes against actually playing a game of Magic. Because of
this, Saviors of Kamigawa was an unpopular set, and is a little rarer than
most others in the years before or after printing. With the rise of the
Commander format, the demand on Legendanr creatures helped cards in
this set go to higher values than when the set was originally Standard-
tournament legal.
Key cards include Miren, the Moaning Well, and Pithing Needle.
